Dr. Schmidt is Board Certified in Family Medicine. She did her undergraduate training at Alma College and graduated with a bachelors of Science degree in 1987. She attended Wayne State University School of Medicine and graduated in 1992. She completed her Family Medicine residency at Oakwood hospital and was also Chief Resident. Dr. Schmidt belongs to several professional affiliations, which include The American Academy of Family Medicine, AMA, Wayne County Medical Society and Michigan State Medical Society. Dr. Schmidt is an Associate Professor of Family Medicine and her teaching affiliations include Wayne State University and The University of Michigan. She has an active interest in Women’s’ Health and Pediatrics.

Dr. Schmidt is married and loves spending her free time with family and friends. She enjoys time in the beautiful Upper Peninsula, reading and enjoying sports.
